Malwarebytes named as SC Magazine 2015 Excellence Award Finalist

San Jose, CA, January 15, 2015: Malwarebytes, the company founded to protect people and businesses from sophisticated data-stealing software, has been named a finalist in the SC Awards 2015 for outstanding leadership and achievement in information security. Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit is recognized in the Best Vulnerability Management Category, which acknowledges companies with superior security products that help customers address the most pressing cybersecurity threats. The winner will be announced at the SC Awards 2015 ceremony to be held April 21, 2015 in San Francisco.

“From Home Depot, to JP Morgan, to Sony, cyber attackers showed new levels of sophistication and determination in their attacks in 2014,” said Illena Armstrong, VP, editorial, SC Magazine. “With mounting headlines, it’s more important than ever to recognize the tireless efforts of the men and women across the globe who work to combat these threats and provide cybersecurity to organizations large and small.”

The SC Awards, now in its 18th year, are the information security industry’s most prominent recognition. Winners in the Excellence category are decided by an expert panel of judges, hand-picked by SC Magazine’s editorial team for their breadth of knowledge and experience in the information security industry. The awards honor both the cybersecurity professionals working in the trenches, and the products and services that help protect today’s corporate world from a myriad of ever-changing threats.

“It’s been a great year for Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit, so we are really pleased it has been shortlisted for such a reputable award,” said Marcin Kleczynski, CEO of Malwarebytes.  “Vulnerabilities are increasingly used in today’s advanced attacks, so we hope our approach can help address this to keep companies safe.”

“Malwarebytes’s solution represents some of the most innovative and effective security technology on the market today,” said Illena Armstrong, VP, editorial, SC Magazine. “As attackers develop and practice new approaches to compromising sensitive information, companies are challenged to keep pace. Malwarebytes was named an SC Award finalist for its efforts to raise the bar for the security industry.”

Winners of this year’s SC Awards U.S. will be announced at a gala dinner and award ceremony to be held in San Francisco on April 21, 2015. This is one of the most anticipated IT security events of the year and promises excitement and invaluable networking opportunities with some of the top corporate IT professionals in the country.
