6 steps to protect your kid’s privacy

Take these steps to lock down your kid’s data and identity today for a more secure tomorrow.

01.

Lock down YOUR
social media accounts.

Make sure your social media accounts are set to private to protect the photos and info you’ve shared over the years.

02.

Freeze your child’s credit.

Freezing their credit via all three US bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion) restricts access to your child’s credit report, and means fraudsters cannot use your child’s identity to get credit.

03.

Dummy data for the win.

Use fake data and generic images whenever entering required information about
your child, if you can.

04.

Review and lock down privacy
settings on your kids’ apps.

Don’t use their photo for profile pictures, remove statuses that let others know when they’re online, set as much as possible to “private,” and give the least amount of personally identifiable information (home address, phone number, etc.) as you can.

05.

Keep your devices updated and use security software.

Outdated and unprotected devices are low hanging
fruit for cybercriminals.

06.

Set up identity monitoring.

This alerts you if your or
your family’s information is
being traded online, and helps you recover afterwards.
