Malwarebytes Bolsters Mac Product Lineup with Enhanced Web Protection Feature to Help Consumers Safeguard their Privacy and Identity Online  

Additional layers of protection secure against today’s AI-powered threats 

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – April 22, 2025 – Malwarebytes, a global leader in real-time cyber protection, announced new enhancements to its Malwarebytes Premium for Mac solution, adding powerful, device-level security to significantly boost protection against online threats. The updated solution includes additional web protection capabilities to stop app-based threats and enhanced coverage for domain and IP-based threats such as botnets, illegal software, and exfiltration servers. Mac malware is undergoing a revolution as an old guard of threats gives way to a dangerous new breed of information stealers like Atomic Stealer (AMOS) and Poseidon. Poseidon boasts the ability to steal passwords from web browsers, multiple password managers, file transfer apps, and even some VPNs. Since its creation in mid-2024, Poseidon has risen to prominence and now accounts for 70% of information stealer detections on macOS. Stolen credentials can lead to bank fraud, social media account hacks, and enable social engineering.
