Short bio

Ransom.Zeppelin is Malwarebytes’ detection name  for a family of ransomware that is also known as Buran.

Symptoms

After encryption a ransom note named !!! ALL YOUR FILES ARE ENCRYPTED !!!.TXT will be created that tells a victim to contact either stopcrypt@cock.email or decryptor@cock.email for payment instructions.

Type and source of infection

Ransom.Zeppelin is ransomware. Ransomware in general makes files on the victims system unusable until the ransom is paid. Ransom.Zeppelin is usually spread in malspam campaigns that use malicious documents or IQY files that infect and encrypt the users computer if the user enables the data source.

Aftermath

At the moment there is no free decryption tool available for Ransom.Zeppelin. Malwarebytes Nebula users can use the Ransomware rollback feature if files were encrypted before the anti-ransomware protection stopped the process.
