The Association of Internet Researchers is an “Academic association dedicated to the advancement of…Internet studies” – [Wikipedia]. They’ve held conferences since 1999, and the next is scheduled to take place in October.

There’s no other content on the compromised webpage and nothing malicious was detected at time of writing. The usual disclaimers about “that could change at any time” apply, and the AoIR Twitter feed has apparently already been notified about the hack so everything should be back to normal soon enough.
