PUP.FakeAV.Anobot is Malwarebytes’ detection name for a small family of fake adware removal apps from a developer known as Anobot. These apps were all targeted at MacOS systems.

PUP.FakeAV.Anobot are promoted as adware removal apps, while in reality they have very limited functionality. PUP.FakeAV.Anobot apps were available from the Mac App Store, but have since been removed.
