According to Chris Weber, a cybersecurity expert, there are several possible scenarios where visual spoofing can be used to give threat actors the advantage:
- Domain name spoofing
- Fraudulent vanity URLs
- User interface and dialog spoofing
- Malvertising
- Internationalized email forging
- Profanity filter bypassing
